A local Medtech startup was looking for a new Development team that could build their vision: a workspace that allowed medical professionals to collaborate throughout their data-research studies.They had a previous product built by a different team that needed business improvement and alignment.To cover for the shortcomings and expand into general medicine, the client planned an entirely new ecosystem of products around medical data processing and handling. Our team was in charge of making it happen!

In hospitals, the handling of medical data resembled a maze of physical archives, slowing down research and hindering progress. Imagine residents sifting through stacks of unlabeled documents just to find vital information for a study. The ecosystem

In response to the daunting challenges of archaic data management practices, we engineered a groundbreaking AI-powered ecosystem. The journey began with the development of a robust document digitization process, granting seamless access to a medical institution’s files from any corner of the globe.

Leveraging bespoke OCR technology, we crafted an algorithm capable of deciphering diverse medical data categories—ranging from doctor’s notes to CT scan results—embedded within images and PDFs. The extracted text was distilled to highlight only the most crucial information, before being meticulously labeled and categorized by patient identity.

To streamline this transformative process, we pioneered a user-friendly web application. Compatible with both desktop and mobile devices, it enabled users to swiftly upload documents, even allowing for rapid image capture directly from mobile devices for instant transmission. This seamless integration was exemplified through side-by-side demonstrations of upload procedures, illustrating the versatility and accessibility of our platform.

Once uploaded, documents embarked on a journey through our processing pipeline, where cutting-edge data extraction and labelling techniques were employed. The resultant insights were readily available within the web application, empowering users to fine-tune extracted data as per their requirements.

A standout feature of our approach was the granular segmentation of documents by patient, enabling comprehensive insights into individual health journeys. This invaluable capability empowered medical professionals to enrich diagnoses by leveraging patients’ complete medical histories, fostering nuanced and context-driven healthcare decisions.

Our platform seamlessly transitioned into a catalyst for medical research endeavors. Using Large Language Models (LLMs), we facilitated the creation of dynamic datasets tailored to each patient’s journey. These datasets, enriched with insights derived from speciality-specific variables, proved instrumental in fueling clinical trials and driving evidence-based research.

Further enriching our platform, we facilitated collaborative workspaces tailored to the diverse needs of smaller teams and hospital departments. By providing dedicated spaces for project-specific document management, we fostered interdisciplinary collaboration and catalyzed breakthrough innovations within the medical community.
